Addis Communications welcomes University of Maryland senior Shadee Nowrouzi as its Spring 2019 intern.
“I’m delighted to have Shadee join Addis Communications,” says Karen Addis, APR, president and CEO of Addis Communications. “What stood out most about Shadee was her solid writing skills, which are so essential to PR, along with her strong initiative and drive.”
Nowrouzi, who is scheduled to graduate from the University of Maryland in May 2019, is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication with a minor in Business Administration. As an intern, she will be responsible for a variety of tasks, which include writing, editing, proofreading; conducting research; and developing social media posts.
“I am thrilled to join the Addis Communications team,” says Nowrouzi. “This internship will allow me to further develop my writing and verbal skills while also learning how to use effective strategies to tailor content to diverse audiences.”
Nowrouzi currently serves as the president of the university’s Undergraduate Communication Association, a student-run organization that provides opportunities outside the classroom to help prepare students for internships and jobs. As president, Nowrouzi is responsible for overseeing the operations of the organization, including presiding over executive board meetings, and keeping the faculty advisor up to date on the organization’s activities.
In addition, Nowrouzi has worked as a communications writer for the university’s Robert H. Smith School of Business, where she was responsible for writing feature stories, articles about various research projects, and events hosted by the Smith School.
